Comment: I was nervous after reading Chana's comment, but I was relieved that everything was fine. The buiding location was tricky (opposite where one would expect it to be!) but I knew it had to be there and persisted until I found it! The "door that didn't lock" was the door that goes to the mikvah - only the attendant has access. My bath water was clean, maybe the yellow colour had to do with time of year or some kind of maintenance thing. I love these old stone buildings with the dome roofs. Nice atmosphere and the cheapest (30 sheks!?) mikvah I have been to. Zait Ra'anan is "5 stars" and you pay for it. Panim Meiros is 1/4 renovated and in desperate need of funds to finish the job. I feel I got my money's worth at Batei Rand and may go back for the 40 shekel private room!

Comment: This Mikvah may be nice, but it's far from clean and comfortable. The water in the bath was yellow, all they gave was a towel (no bathrobe or anything else), one of the doors of the bathroom did not lock, there was no garbage can, there was an old comb sitting on the corner of the bath full of someone else's hair.
I had a very unpleasant experience and I hope no woman is turned off from Mikvah because of that.
London neighbourhoods Our family of four is traveling to London in July. We would like to look for an air bnb in a secular neighbourhood within an hour's walk to an Orthodox synagogue. Can you suggest some neighbourhoods for us to try?
how to ship belongings What does Customs allow or what items do they tax heavily. I have electronics, laptop, tablet, printers, I need as a writer, and also want some household items for an apt. with me. Want to give out blankets, soup, and bread to poor and shut-in Holocaust survivors too. Have Israeli friends, but don't want to bother them before I visit them. No idea who to contact for apt. search and for Customs requirements.
